Recently, a MiNDFOOD reader sent us the following:

"What a breath of fresh air – a magazine with in-depth articles instead of silly celebrity chit-chat. Your Climate Change Warriors story was of great interest, and I have the utmost admiration for those who advocate and work for changes in the way we care for our environment.

However, I was surprised that the individuals about whom you wrote, cited only Al Gore’s film, and not the outstanding BBC presentation which was basically a rebuttal of many of his pseudo-scientific "facts". In fact, the British government recalled copies of Mr Gore’s film that were to be sent out to schools in Britain, because of the controversy about many of the film’s errors.

Environmental issues should be taken very seriously, and this also means looking at both sides of the story."

Tell us what you think. Have you seen Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth?

While the facts are important there will always be counter claims in regard to science.  There are so many variables and making those clear in a documentary would render it unwatchable.

What is truly important is that we live in a time when we are just starting to understand that we cannot use more than is available, that our actions have implications and that the world that we live in is an exhaustable resource that deserves greater respect.

Until we understand and are prepared to pay the real cost attached to the limited resources that we use on a daily basis we will continue to stupidly waste what is precious and fail to reach our potential as innovators, designers and human beings.
